What is the Guarantee Fund?
The Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) law was created in 1992 to protect consumers and regulate the business practices of contractors. It established a registration requirement, an arbitration program for resolving disputes, and a Guaranty Fund program to compensate consumers up to $10,000 for unpaid judgments against contractors.

What do I need to do to prepare for my new roof installation with Beantown?
- Before any work begins you must remove all lawn ornaments, solar lamps/lights, bird baths, grills, patio furniture, umbrellas, children’s toys, pergolas, canopies, or other items not bolted down or rooted in the ground be cleared at least 30’ away from the home to prevent them from being damaged during the construction process.
- If you have skylights that are being replaced, please clear the entire area underneath the skylight so that we may put down plastic or other protection. Additionally we will need to bring in ladders to reach the interior of the skylight for trim work.
- Please pickup any animal poop that may be in the yard. We appreciate not getting this all over our equipment.
- Cut your lawn the day before. The shorter the grass the better the cleanup.
- Remove any breakables from walls and cover items in your attic to protect from dust. Beantown is not responsible for any debris falling into your attic.
- If you have any pets that can be anxious with a lot of noise then we might suggest sending them to daycare for the day of the install.
- If you have sprinklers that run during the day please shut them off for the day of the install.
- Please relocate your vehicles to make room for materials, dumpsters, and Beantown trucks & trailers
- Have the second check ready for us the morning of the install and the final when we finish.
What do I need to do to prepare for my new siding installation with Beantown?
- Before any work begins you must remove all of the screens from your windows. While we do our very best to protect your windows, sometimes a screen can get damaged.
- Before any work begins you must remove all lawn ornaments, solar lamps/lights, bird baths, grills, patio furniture, umbrellas, children’s toys, pergolas, canopies, or other items not bolted down or rooted in the ground be cleared at least 30’ away from the home to prevent them from being damaged during the construction process.

- If you would like Beantown to install new lights and doorbells, you should have them on hand before the job starts and certainly BEFORE the job reaches completion. Anything brought in after the job is completed will be the responsibility of the homeowner to install.
What do I need to do to prepare for my window and door installation with Beantown?
- Remove any and all shades, curtains or brackets from all units that we will be working on. (If this is not done beforehand, additional charges will apply for Beantown to remove them). We will not reinstall them.
- Please clear at least 3′ in front of each unit so that the workers are able to gain easy access to all of them and easily lay down plastic sheeting as needed for protection
- Should there be any heavy furniture that needs to be moved, please try to plan ahead for this and have it moved beforehand. If however, you are unable to do so, we will try to assist with moving heavy items.
- Please relocate your vehicles to make room for our trucks and all equipment.
- Please be sure that all pets are secured so that they can not escape while we are working.
- Should there be any fragile items in the home sensitive to banging on the walls, you may want to remove any breakables to prevent something from falling and getting damaged.
- We will do our best to clean everything up as much as possible both inside and out.
- Please notify us of any concerns or hazards we should be aware of around the property.

Does Beantown Home Improvements provide safety to homeowners or occupants during a roofing project?
All of our safety programs are OSHA approved to keep your home, its occupants, and our workforce safe. For every project, we make sure to pull a Certificate of Insurance (COI) and list you, the owner, as additionally insured so that you are also protected should anything ever happen.
How does Beantown manage safety during adverse weather conditions?
Safety is never compromised, even in adverse weather. We closely monitor weather forecasts and adjust our schedules accordingly. No matter what weather conditions we are working in, we make sure to follow OSHA safety standards at all times. All our workers are also required to wear a full body harness when working on a roof and hardhats when working on the ground.
