Beantown Home Improvements Community & Charity Involvement

Beantown Home Improvements isn’t just involved with roofing, siding, windows, doors, and decks. No, we feel very fortunate to be where we are today and as such, we try to give back to the community and several charities whenever possible. Helping our service men and women is of major importance to the owner Jim DelPrete and he is constantly trying to help those who have afforded us the freedoms we have today.

Below is a list of just some of the events we have been involved with and partake in.

Working with Our Deployed

Beantown Home Improvements took a leap of faith on this one, especially being a small company. The homeowner’s husband is deployed and they were having serious leaks in the roof. The funding for this project was entirely coming from donated sources such as the VFW Yuengling Beer and several other sources, long after the roof was to be done! Beantown Home Improvements stepped up and installed the roof without receiving any money whatsoever, knowing that donations would come in from sources over the next 6 months.

2020 Habitat for Humanity Project – Plymouth

It’s a new year but the same great Beantown Home Improvements crew. We were in Plymouth, MA at the Habitat for Humanity project off Long Pond Road on Tuesday 1/14/2020. We donated the material and labor to a much-deserving Veteran and her family – check out the excerpt below. No matter the roof, we are always using the best materials on the market, which is Owens Corning. The color installed here is Driftwood. The Beantown Home Improvements crew wants to thank Tracy for her sacrifices and duty to this great Nation. We also wish her and her family a Happy New Year with new beginnings.

Tracy served 9 years in the Air Force and 6 years in the Army Reserve. She served 6 tours overseas. She left the military to adopt her 2 young cousins who were 9 and 11 at the time. They are now 16 and 14. Tracy and her boys will receive the 3-bedroom ranch. #BeantownHI #OwensCorning #Driftwood

Operation Payback

In early 2017 Beantown Home Improvements launched what it hopes to be a yearly event in which we will give away a brand new roof of 20 square (2000sf of actual roof area) to an American Veteran (US Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy) FREE of charge. The below roof was installed on November 15th, 2017 in Abington and this program will continue to run on an annual basis.

November 20, 2016 Veteran Surprise

To us every day is Veteran’s Day and today we visited Webster Rehab and South Shore Rehab in Rockland to pay tribute to 32 of our American Veterans.

Beantown Home Improvements partnered with Ken Blanchard at Soldier and Family Services to get the sizes of 32 of our veterans. Ken does all the legwork getting their sizes and then brands the bags with Beantown Home Improvements’ information who sponsors all of the clothing. These veterans had no idea we were coming today and it brought tears to their eyes, and ours. Each receives a veteran knit hat, 2 veteran t-shirts with American Flags on them, a veteran sweatshirt and 2 pairs of socks.

We do this to show our sincere appreciation for their service and was truly an honor to meet all of them. Their service ranged from WWII, Korean War, Vietnam, and Iraqi war veterans. Men and women alike. We truly thank you all for your service.

I’ve owned three properties and worked with many contractors over the years—some good, others not so much. Without a doubt, Beantown Home Improvements has been the best company I’ve ever worked with. Their communication throughout the entire … More process was outstanding. Derek, John, James, and the entire crew were fantastic every step of the way. Last but not least, the results exceeded my expectations, and the price was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend Beantown to anyone in need of a new roof!

While searching for contractors to complete an entire exterior home renovation, we quickly realized Beantown Home Improvements outshone the rest!Derek S. (Project Manager - Roofing) and his crew replaced the roof (Owens Corning TruDefinition … More in Onyx Black), installed Velux skylights with solar blinds, and installed a solar attic fan. Derek and his crew exhibited enthusiasm, professionalism, and a great work ethic. He kept us well-informed with updates and even provided drone footage of the project.John F. (Project Specialist) spent countless hours turning our vision into reality. His unparalleled patience, knowledge, and genuineness were remarkable. John never rushed us into making a decision and was always available to answer the endless questions posed to him.To complete the transformation, in stepped the logistical and physical masterminds of the project (Nick G. and Jim E.). The project consisted of 57 new construction windows (52 Andersen 400 series and 5 ProVia), roughly 3,000 square feet of James Hardie siding (Pearl Gray), 2 roof extensions, TimberTech decking (English Walnut), VYCOR housewrap, Low-E insulation, 6” seamless gutters - to name the bulk of it. Although the majority of Nick’s (Operation Manager) work may be behind the scenes, it did not go unnoticed to us just how amazing he is. His and Jim E.’s (Installation Manager) precision and attention in the logistical and physical aspects of the project make the process run like a very well-oiled machine. Again, always responsive, genuine, professional, personable, and patient.Once the project began, Jim provided daily updates and was always available. He is a true master of the craft and echoed the recurring top-notch sentiments we have for Beantown HI. Jim’s crew, led by Estuardo, was phenomenal. Rarely these days will you find such a fine group of men with an unrivaled work ethic and truly skilled craftsmanship.Brian T. (Master Carpenter - Decking) and crew (Patrick K., Avery K., David J. - missing the names of others) constructed 2 roof extensions to alleviate long-standing issues with water infiltration. Additionally, the crew cut back existing decking and replaced it with TimberTech decking. The crew was friendly and also reflected the excellent values Beantown HI represents. If you are searching for any exterior home renovations, look no further than Beantown HI. You will truly be overwhelmed by their craftsmanship, work ethic, genuineness, and all top-notch attributes anyone would want in a contractor. We are extremely satisfied and thankful to Beantown HI for creating such a positive experience in turning our dream into reality.
